Ducks don’t quack

January 4th, 2012

We’ve been teaching the little one animal noises instead of animal onomatopoeia.
Apparently it’s unusual to do this. But lets face it, dogs don’t ‘woof’ they go Rouwgh!
He can now wark, rouwgh, euuuurm, ruuurrrrgh, eeow, kwargk and eiayyyyy with the best of them.

We’re avoiding baby-talk too. There’s no point in teaching that it’s called a quack-quack or baa-lamb now and then have to teach him it’s actually a duck and sheep later.
The same goes for ‘ta.’ We’re teaching him ‘thank you’ from the start.
